Worship & Services

At the Parish of Wellspring Villages, we gather as four churches but one community in faith, drawn from the beautiful villages of Bishopstone, Hinton Parva, Liddington, and Wanborough. Whether you are a lifelong Christian member or visiting for the first time, you are warmly welcomed to join us in worship.

Our services reflect both the rich faith and traditions of the Church of England. We offer a rhythm of worship that includes Holy Communion, Morning Prayer, and special seasonal services — all designed to deepen our relationship with God and one another and glorify Him.

Weekly Services

We rotate our Sunday services across our parish churches to honour the unique heritage of each worshipping community:

Service Rotation:

1st Sunday All Saints, Liddington
2nd Sunday St Mary’s, Bishopstone
3rd Sunday St Andrew’s, Wanborough
4th Sunday St Swithun’s, Hinton Parva
5th Sunday Rotates around each of the churches.

Service Time & Fellowship:

Typically, at 10:30am, unless otherwise announced

Tea and coffee are served after most services — a welcome opportunity to chat and connect with each other.

A full-service rota is available in church, on our parish newsletter, and online (coming soon!).

A Place for All

Whether you are exploring faith, seeking to return to church, or looking for a spiritual home, The Parish of The Wellspring Villages offers a community of God’s family which seeks to be friendly, joyful, relaxed and thought-provoking.

A place to meet with God and others on the journey of following Him and serving Him. Children and families are welcome, and it is our hope to develop more worshipping opportunities for all ages together, as well as more age-appropriate groups and services.

Special Services

We also offer:

Baptisms

Baptism is a special moment of welcome — for children and adults alike — as we celebrate new life in Christ and the love of God. We would be delighted to share this journey with you.

Weddings

A church wedding is a joyful celebration, rooted in God’s blessing and the prayers of the community. Our beautiful village churches provide a timeless and personal setting for your day.

Funerals

In times of sadness and loss, our churches are here to offer comfort, prayer, and support. A church service is available to everyone.

Our churches are nestled in the North Wessex Downs — rich in natural beauty and spiritual Christian history. Visit one or visit them all!

We look forward to worshipping with you. Come as you are — and be part of the ongoing story of Christian Faith in our villages.

Holy Communion Services

Holy Communion is the service in which Christians remember and re-enact Jesus’ death and resurrection for the redemption of the world from sin and death. It is a time to remember all that he has done for us and receive his life within, by faith, as we take bread and wine in his name. It is a personal moment of communion with Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

The Service includes hymns of praise, a time of general confession, Bible readings, a sermon, prayers of intercession and the great thanksgiving prayer of Holy Communion. If you do not wish to receive bread and wine during the administration of Communion you can come forward for a prayer of blessing.

Book of Common Prayer (1662) Holy Communion Services

These early morning services at 8.30am are a said service only, without music or hymns, and follows the Holy Communion Service from the 1662 Anglican Prayer book of Cranmer. The theology and language of this service is powerful, beautiful and timeless.

The familiar words carry you along into a special place of prayer and communion with God.

Songs of Praise

This is an occasional opportunity to come together to personally request, and sing, our favourite hymns. For those who wish there is also the opportunity to share why they are special to them. The service will also include a Bible reading and intercessions.

“A parish where history meets hope, and community meets Christ.”
