Holy Week, Easter Celebrations & Services

Sunday 13th April 2025: Palm Sunday Celebration 10.30am St. Mary’s Bishopstone.

Jesus enters Jerusalem for the last time amidst jubilant celebration from the crowds and the waving of palm branches.

Thursday 17th April 2025: Maundy Thursday, Seder meal with the Lord Supper, 7pm St Swithuns, Hinton Parva.

Jesus celebrates the Passover with his disciples and institutes the Lord Supper (Holy Communion) as the effective sign and symbolic action of his death for our redemption. We will share a Seder Meal (Passover) together, ending with the Lord’s Supper.

Good Friday 18th April 2025: The Stations of the Cross 2pm St. Marys, Bishopstone.

From St. Mary’s Church we walk up to the top of the Ridgeway above Bishopstone, pausing 14 times on the way to reflect on Jesus’ final journey to the cross on Good Friday. Each of the 14 stations include a few verses from the gospels and a prayer.

Do join us and children are welcome too. It takes about 1 hour up and 30 minutes down. (The service is out of doors and can be muddy underfoot.)

Easter Day 20th April 2025: Easter Day Family Holy Communion, 10.30am St. Andrew’s, Wanborough.

Service to celebrate the empty tomb and Jesus rising from the dead on the first day of the week. All age talk, with Holy Communion, and something for the children at the end.
