Giving to our Churches

The Bible encourages us to give our time and money to God’s work, both locally and globally. The church relies on generous contributions from its members to fulfil its role in God’s plan for our community. Similarly, other Christian organisations depend on the support of those who share their vision.

Our time, talents, knowledge and experience, our possessions and money, are all gifts from God. As we say at the offertory each Sunday before Communion all things come from you, and of your own do we give you [1].

Our congregation are enormously generous and give to support local church work.

They also pay for maintaining our extraordinary array of buildings – many listed and expensive to run. This can put great strain on local church finances and this is why our local church is reaching out to the wider community to ask for your support.

It doesn’t take much money to make a big difference with the regular of donations really helping. If you can play your part in supporting our churches, the whole community benefits.

Your donation is processed securely. Wellspring Villages will only use your information to process your donation, keep required records, and contact you where you have given permission.

Ways to give

Parish Giving Scheme

The Parish Giving Scheme is an easy way to give. It is secure, gives you control and allows the church to benefit from an additional 25% gift aid if you are a taxpayer.

The scheme enables you to:

  • Donate monthly, quarterly or annually by Direct Debit
  • Sign up to inflation linked giving annually, if you choose
  • Enhance your gift to the parish by having Gift Aid at 25% added to your giving
  • Give anonymously, if you prefer
  • Donate securely

At present, there are three ways in which you can set up Parish Giving to donate regularly to your church or parish:

  • via paper ‘Gift Form’ – available from a treasurer or churchwarden
  • via the telephone service on 0333 002 1271, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
  • via this website www.parishgiving.org.uk

Standing Orders and Donations

Setting up a monthly standing order with your bank is very easy. Please use bank account details below:

  • St Andrew’s: Lloyds Bank Sort Code 30-98-41 Account Number 00316459 Account Name: PCC Wanborough St Andrews
  • All Saints: Lloyds Bank Sort Code 30-98-41 Account Number 00323781 Account Name: PCC Liddington
  • St Mary’s with St Swithun’s: Lloyds Bank Sort Code 30-98-41 Account Number 00316122 Account Name: Parochial Church Council Bishopstone

It is also important for anyone who is a taxpayer to complete a Gift Aid form if they have not done so already, to ensure that the Church continues to recover a substantial amount each year of the taxes we have already paid to the Government. Please contact the vicar, churchwarden or treasurer if you are a taxpayer and have not completed a gift aid form.

Gift Aid

If you complete a Gift Aid declaration, we are required by HMRC to keep a record of:
